Tom Holland recently shared a new update on the development of Spider-Man 4 as fans are eager to see the film finally happen.

Following the massive success of No Way Home in 2021, Marvel Studios and Sony started developing a fourth movie with Holland returning as the web-slinger. They are also searching for a new director who will be helming the installment.

So far, there haven't been a lot of updates regarding the progress of the movie, but a lot of fans are hoping that the project will be moving forward to production soon.

In a recent interview, Holland opened up about his return as the web-slinger in Spider-Man 4.

"The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films. I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more," he said.

However, the biggest challenge for Holland and the people involved in the project is how they can make it different from the first three films and avoid retreading past themes.

"We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing," Holland said.

"This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things."

It is exciting to hear that Marvel Studios and Sony are still committed to making sure that the film will happen and the story will offer something fresh that the previous installments have not done.

For now, fans should wait for updates in the coming months as the project continues to be in the works and it is likely that we will hear official news soon.
