HIDIVE typically announces new titles ahead of a new anime season’s beginning. As a treat this holiday season though, HIDIVE announced new classic anime that were released in December, including beloved shows like To Love Ru Darkness 2.
The HIDIVE December 2023 lineup was announced two weeks ago, and many of the anime are finally streaming on the platform.
Among them is the last installment in the infamous To Love Ru series. There are also two critically acclaimed anime that will be made available on HIDIVE in the coming weeks.
To Love Ru Darkness Headlines HIDIVE’s December 2023 Additions
If you ask ecchi anime fans about their favorite shows, chances are that they will at least mention To Love Ru. This anime is based on the manga of the same name that arguably pushed the boundaries of ecchi in Shonen Jump.
As a treat for fans, HIDIVE announced that To Love Ru Darkness 2 is part of its December lineup. This series is the last proper anime series entry in the franchise, though there was an OVA follow-up a couple of years ago.
Fans don’t need to wait, as the second season of Darkness is finally streaming on HIDIVE. The show was released just a few hours ago for fans in the US to enjoy.
For those who are in the mood for action, HIDIVE also added Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, the anime that arguably put ufotable on the map with its incredible action.
There are some wholesome titles in the lineup, too. These include K-ON! The Movie, K-ON! Live House!, and My Love Story!!, which were released in the first week of December.

HIDIVE Is Bringing Two More Critically Acclaimed Anime
As a treat for fans who want something different, HIDIVE will also release Kino’s Journey next week. This anime is a sci-fi adventure series that’s praised for its philosophical themes and unique atmosphere.
There’s also Shirobako, which is coming to HIDIVE after Christmas day. This is one of the popular titles in the P.A. Works Working series, and it follows budding anime and manga professionals.
For those who can’t wait, HIDIVE has already added Kids on the Slope by Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichiro Watanabe. This might be a lesser-known Watanabe anime, but it’s a must-watch for fans of the director.
HIDIVE will release Kino’s Journey on December 20. Meanwhile, Shirobako will be available beginning December 27.
