To celebrate the film’s cinema release in Japan, Komada anime film viewers in theaters have gotten special gifts. The third such gift is a crossover Komada – A Whisky Family visual featuring other P.A. Works anime such as Shirobako and Sakura Quest.
This new visual was shared on the film’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. It features Komada’s main character alongside other P.A. Works protagonists.
Crossover visuals from studios aren’t new as the likes of Wit Studio and MAPPA have shared similar visuals for their anniversary events. What makes this interesting is that all shows in the crossover have one thing in common.
Komada - A Whisky Family Is P.A. Works' Next Working Series Installment
P.A. Works is a popular anime studio that’s known for its hit anime adaptations such as last year’s breakout hit Ya Boy Kongming! and Spring 23’s acclaimed high school romance Skip and Loafer.
Aside from a selection of adaptations, P.A. Works also has a variety of original anime, a selection of which are included in its informal Working series.
The anime in this series follows the daily lives of people working jobs. Shows in this series include Shirobako, which follows animators. Then there’s The Aquatope on White Sand, which is about aquarium workers.
The series’ latest installment is Komada – A Whisky Family. As its name implies, this anime film features the story of Rui Komada who recently took over her family’s whisky distillery.
Komada premiered at the prestigious Annecy International Film Festival where it competed in the Contrechamp category.
The film then got a wide Japanese theatrical release on November 10, 2023.

P.A. Works Brings Everyone Together in New Komada - A Whisky Family Crossover Visual
As part of the promotion for the film, lucky moviegoers who watched Komada were able to get exclusive gifts. As of now, two sets of gifts have been given away.
The third gift to be distributed features the special crossover visual of the P.A. Works Working series characters.
Included in the visual are Kukuru Misakino from The Aquatope on White Sand, Aoi Miyamori from Shirobako, Yoshino Koharu from Sakura Quest, and Ohana Matsumae from Hanasaku Iroha.
This crossover sees the four Working series characters as they are given a tour of the Komada family distillery by none other than Rui Komada herself.
Fans will be able to get this freebie in select Japanese theaters from December 8 to 21, 2023.
For now, there’s no word yet on a release date for Komada – A Whisky Family outside of Japan.
