There's a Neat Transformers Shoutout in Solo: A Star Wars Story

If you look closely at any Star Wars film, you'll know that there's a lot of details and Easter Eggs are hidden in the background. Heck, something could appear onscreen for a second and there would be an intensive description on it. As it turns out, there's a small Transformers nod in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

This was actually spotted in the official guide for Solo, and it shows that one of the messenger droids in the movie is named after the G1 Transformer KUP:

There isn't really that much comparison other than the shape of the droid, but it's still a fun nod to other pop-culture franchises outside of Star Wars. Heck, the deleted scene where Han refuses to get into a barrel of eels seemed like a nod to Indy's fear of snakes in Indiana Jones.

Though Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't make that much in the box office, the film was still pretty much well-received by the fans—even better than The Last Jedi. Some have even claimed that they regret boycotting the movie when it came out—a result of the anger of some fans over their disappointment with TLJ.

Admittedly, there were a lot of other factors that affected the profits of Solo, and the boycott was only one of them. The film released after big films like Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, and it was even rumored that Disney watered down the marketing for the film to keep the focus on Infinity War.

Hopefully Solo makes up for it with home video sales. Some fans have even started petitioning for Lucasfilm to make the sequel for Solo happen.

Nothing solid has been announced, but we'll just have to wait and see where everything goes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is now available on digital and hits Blu-Ray Sept. 25.
