There is little doubt that Yennefer and Geralt are two of the characters who have a lot of interactions in The Witcher. However, Anya Chalotra has just revealed that she has not yet met new Geralt actor Liam Hemsworth.
The Witcher's Anya Chalotra Confirms She Hasn't Met Liam Hemsworth
Anya Chalotra recently spoke to Variety where she confirmed that she was not consulted about Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill.
"We haven’t had a chemistry test. I wasn’t part of that process [of his casting]," Chalotra said. Still, she admitted that she is already looking forward to meeting the new Geralt of Rivia.
"But I’m very excited to see what his Geralt is. And only then will we realize what dynamics we have as a group," she said.
Although they haven't met face-to-face just yet, Anya Chalotra previously revealed that she had been in contact with Hemsworth.
"Yes, just through email, a message of support when the news came out," she said. "I can’t wait to meet him."
Despite being excited about her new co-star, Chalotra also confessed that she was emotional when it was confirmed that Henry Cavill will be leaving The Witcher after the third season.
"I was really sad," Chalotra confessed. "I may have shed a tear."
"It’s a journey we have been on together for a long time, all of us," she continued. "Especially in my career, The Witcher has been the biggest thing I have done. It’s the project that started me off."
Chalotra then pointed out that "Henry was a huge part of that. He’s a crucial member of the show and I will miss him dearly."
Henry Cavill announced his departure from The Witcher in October 2022, confirming that Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt of Rivia in Season 4.
The first volume of The Witcher Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. The second set of episodes will be released on July 27, 2023.
