Anya Chalotra recently spoke to SFX magazine where she opened up about Henry Cavill's departure from the Netflix series (via GamesRadar). The Witcher star, who has worked with Cavill since 2018, confirmed that she was devastated about the exit.

"I was really sad," Chalotra confessed. "I may have shed a tear."

"It’s a journey we have been on together for a long time, all of us," she continued. "Especially in my career, The Witcher has been the biggest thing I have done. It’s the project that started me off."

Chalotra then pointed out that "Henry was a huge part of that. He’s a crucial member of the show and I will miss him dearly."

Henry Cavill announced his departure from The Witcher in October 2022, confirming that Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt of Rivia in Season 4. However, we will still get to see Cavill as the White Wolf in the upcoming third season, which is set to be his final outing for the Netflix show.

In The Witcher, Anya Chalotra plays Yennefer of Vengerberg and she previously teased how Yen's maternal instincts will be triggered in Season 3.

“Yennefer puts Ciri first and in doing so, she’s able to persuade people she once hated, or charm anyone who gets in the way of protecting Ciri. Compromise is a keyword, actually. She learns how to do that this season,” she said.

The Witcher Season 3 will bring back Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Joey Batey as Jaskier, and Freya Allan as Princess Ciri.

The Witcher Season 3, Volume 1 premieres on Netflix on June 29, 2023. The second set of episodes will be released on July 27, 2023.
