The Witcher: Henry Cavill Training To Play Geralt In Netflix Series

Henry Cavill might finally be ready to play Geralt of Rivia. The Mission: Impossible - Fallout star has just revealed that he is currently training in preparation for his role in Netflix's The Witcher series.

Cavill has just posted a new photo on his official Instagram account. The image shows the actor with his dog. However, the caption confirms that Cavill just completed a training session for his new show. Take a look at his post below.

It's no secret that Cavill usually works out to prepare for a new role. He famously bulked up to portray Clark Kent in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. Cavill also trained for his role as August Walker in Fallout so it's no surprise that he is getting ready for The Witcher. However, the idea that he is already preparing for the series means that it could start production before the end of the month. Hopefully, we'll get more updates from Cavill once principal photography begins in the future.

Cavill is the only star who has been confirmed for The Witcher. Although there have been reports of casting calls for Ciri and Yennefer, Netflix has yet to announce if the roles have been filled. In addition to that, there has been some controversy over the rumored casting call that suggested Ciri will be portrayed by a BAME actress. Nevertheless, all the leads are expected to be cast before the end of October. Stay tuned for more updates on the series.

It's a rather laidback year for Cavill. His most recent project is the psychological thriller Nomis, which also stars Alexandra Daddario, Ben Kingsley, Nathan Fillion, and Stanley Tucci. The film premiered at the LA Film Festival on September 28.

The Witcher is expected to air on Netflix sometime in 2019.
