There are quite a number of isekai anime that are coming in Winter 24. Among these is The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey, which just revealed its main voice cast and opening song in a new trailer ahead of its January 2024 premiere.
This upcoming series is made by Studio Massket, a fairly new anime studio. Plus, it should be a must-see for isekai fans as it’s a comfier take on the genre.
Isekai Anime The Weakest Tamer Reveals Voice Cast
Officially titled The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash, this upcoming series is based on an ongoing light novel series of the same name — as expected, given that’s the case with most isekai anime.
The show was originally revealed to be in the works last year. As its premiere is coming in just a bit over a month, The Weakest Tamer anime announced its opening theme and main voice cast members.
Performing the opening song titled Hate no Nai Tabi (A Journey Without End in English) is Aina Suzuki. She is also the VA of the main character, Ivy.
Joining Suzuki are the following VAs:
- Mutsumi Tamura (Kobayashi in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) as Sora
- Anna Mugiho (Manmaru in Love Live! Superstar!!) as Ciel
- Fumi Hirano (Lum in Urusei Yatsura 1981) as Ruba
- Kenta Miyake (All Might in My Hero Academia) as Oguto
- Kousuke Toriumi (Guido Mista in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) as Verivera
- Masaki Terasoma (Hidan in Naruto) as Seizerk
- Taku Yashiro (Sanosuke in Rurouni Kenshin 2023) as Latroa
- Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki in Gintama) as Borolda
- Hiroki Yasumoto (Yasutora Sado in Bleach) as Rickbert
- Marina Inoue (Armin Arlert in Attack on Titan) as Mira
- Shunichi Toki (Kazutora Hanemiya in Tokyo Revengers) as Tort

The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey Gets January 2024 Release Date
Instead of being a wish-fulfillment power fantasy isekai, The Weakest Tamer is a more subdued series as it follows Ivy, a weak no-star Tamer. She has little to no memories of her past life.
Soon, her fortune changes when she tames the lowly slime named Sora. Even though Sora is weak, they have a special power.
The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey will premiere on January 12, 2024. It will be broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS Asahi.
For now, there’s no word on a streaming platform for this show outside of Japan. More info will likely be revealed about its international release closer to its premiere day.
