The Walking Dead's Negan Joins Tekken 7 as Season 2 DLC

No, it's not April and you're eyes are not deceiving you. Negan from AMC's The Walking Dead will be a playable character in Tekken 7 as part of the game's second season pass, which will also include classic characters like Anna Williams and Kei Wulong. There are three mystery fighters yet to be unveiled but they aren't the story right now, for obvious reasons.

On one hand, fans shouldn't be too surprised about this, given the game's other guest fighters. Akuma, from Street Fighter, is officially a part of the Tekken canon if the game's story mode is anything to go by and he was part of the on-disc roster. DLC guest characters included Geese from King of Fighters and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV.

Let's also not forget that Geralt from The Witcher will be appearing in Soul Calibur VI. Hellboy and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were also a part of the Injustice 2 DLC roster.

But seeing a character from a live-action TV show join the cut is just weird. Maybe they'll throw fans a bone and add his comic book costume but to see a realistic-looking Negan from The Walking Dead go toe-to-toe with the likes of the anime-like Jin Kazama is going to be an unsettling sight.

Tekken 7 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No release date for the second season pass has been revealed. The first season pass with the aforementioned Geese and Noctis is available now.
