The Walking Dead: Dead City aired its first episode on AMC last June 18, 2023. The Walking Dead spin-off show has a total of six episodes, with one getting released every week.
While the show brings together two original characters from The Walking Dead, it also means that we get to see new characters added to the show.

Who Is Hershel Rhee?
Hershel Greene Rhee, not to be confused with his grandfather Hershel Greene (played by Scott Wilson), is the son of Maggie (played by Lauren Cohan) and Glenn (played by Steven Yeun).
In the graphic novel, we first come across Hershel's character in Issue 130. His character eventually becomes a businessman, who creates a show to remind people of how dangerous the undead are in the new world.
Since he never met his father, Hershel grows up with a desire to know more about him. But since not too many can remember Glenn, Hershel lives with the stories Maggie told him.
By being afraid of the walkers, Hershel believes he becomes close to his father since Glenn was both brave and scared of the undead.
Was Hershel in the Original The Walking Dead Series?
Yes, Hershel was actually conceived in the earlier parts of the original The Walking Dead series, when Glenn was still alive.
Unfortunately, Glenn was brutally murdered by Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) just before Hershel was born.
Hershel was born shortly after the All Out War events in the Hilltop Colony. He was delivered by Dr. Harlan Carson (played by R. Keith Harris).
Avid fans were first introduced to Hershel's character when he was just two years old. He was played by three different child actors throughout the original The Walking Dead series. These include Ethan Charles (Season 7), Peyton Lockridge (Season 9), and Kien Michael Spiller (Seasons 10-11)
How Old Is Hershel in The Walking Dead: Dead City?
In The Walking Dead: Dead City, Hershel returns to the show as a teenager. He is now played by Logan Kim.
But how old is Hershel in The Walking Dead: Dead City? This is where things get confusing since the timeline of the franchise is all mixed up.
In an interview with ScreenRant Lauren Cohan explains that The Walking Dead: Dead City takes place around "five to six years at least" after the events of The Walking Dead.
When the original franchise ended in 2022, it had a total of 11 seasons. Cohan's guesstimate aligns with the suggested age of Hershel, which would be around 15 years old.
The Walking Dead starts in 2010. Hershel was born in Season 6, which would make it around 2012. Since The Walking Dead Season 11 ended in 2020, The Walking Dead: Dead City could take place in 2027.
This would be the perfect estimate for Hershel's age. But who knows, The Walking Dead: Dead City could be mixing up the timeline and things could get more complicated to explain.
All we know is that Hershel isn't an adult yet in the new spin-off series.
