The Walking Dead 9: Norman Reedus Reacts to Andrew Lincoln's Departure

News had just recently dropped that The Walking Dead leading man Andrew Lincoln is going to be leaving the show in the ninth season, and it's said that AMC is courting Norman Reedus (Daryl) to stay on as the new lead. Reedus, being in the show almost as long as Lincoln has, gives out a response to the news that his longtime co-star is leaving the show.

With the next season set out to have 16 episodes, Lincoln is only set to appear in 6. After the death of Carl Grimes, it looks like the series is going to do probably the largest leap from the comics, and have its main character die.

Besides Rick biting the dust, we're also said to see Lauren Cohan leave the show as well. Despite multiple rumors coming out that she won't return, it looks like Cohan will be having the same number of episodes left as Lincoln.

I don't know how The Walking Dead will manage after Rick is written off the show. After all, it is his story that we've been following since season one. It looks like The Walking Dead has simply run too long that its lead actors can't even stay on. Such was the case with shows like The Office, That 70s Show, and Scrubs.

The Walking Dead 9 is set to premiere sometime later this year.
