It looks like Joel Kinnaman is ready to get back into action for The Suicide Squad. The former Altered Carbon star has shared a new photo teasing his preparation for Rick Flag's return in the DC film.
Kinnaman shared the photo on his official Instagram account and it shows the actor in what appears to be an ice bath. Check it out below.
We're not sure what the ice bath is for but it's possible that Kinnaman is currently training or trying to recover from an intense workout. Either way, there is little doubt that Kinnaman will be ready for anything once The Suicide Squad begins production.
Kinnaman will be reunited with former costars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, and Jai Courtney. New cast members who will be joining the James Gunn flick are Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, John Cena, Storm Reid, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, and Taika Waititi. Peter Capaldi was recently added to the cast and the former Doctor Who actor revealed he had to shave his head for his role.
It was previously reported that Capaldi admitted he needs to "completely bald" for his role in The Suicide Squad. However, he managed to talk the production team into letting him keep some of his hair in time for his appearance at Fan Expo Canada. Unfortunately, Capaldi will still need to shave the rest of his head once he gets back to work.
The Suicide Squad will begin production later in September. It is scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
