The Sandman Season 2 has officially begun production and it looks like there is a significant character who will be introduced in the Netflix series. The new photos taken from the set of the show confirm the live-action debut of Morpheus' son Orpheus.

New Set Photos From The Sandman Season 2 Feature Oneiros and Orpheus Meeting

The set photos were shared by several fan accounts on social media and they feature Tom Sturridge with an unidentified actor. In the photos, Sturridge's Dream is dressed in black while his companion is clad in white.

Although the scene was not revealed, it appears to be a reenactment of the comic book moment when Oneiros sees his son Orpheus for the last time.

Not surprisingly, fans are loving everything about the images. People were thrilled to see the costumes as well as the idea that Orpheus will be making his live-action debut in The Sandman Season 2.

But who is Orpheus? He is the son of Dream (who is referred to as Oneiros) and the muse Calliope, who previously appeared in the bonus episode of The Sandman Season 1. In the comics, he is depicted as a severed head after being torn apart by Maenads despite being bestowed eternal life.

For now, the actor playing Orpheus has not yet been announced. However, there is a possibility that the new cast members joining The Sandman Season 2 will be revealed in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
