A lot of MCU fans are looking forward to The Marvels. Not only it serves as a sequel to Captain Marvel, but the titular hero will also finally team up with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, who idolizes her.

So far, while they gave us a good peek at the film in its first trailer, most of the plot details are still under wraps and it is unknown yet how the three heroes' team-up will fare well with the story that they're telling.

Now, we finally have more details about the characters' dynamics and it sounds like the film will establish that we won't only be seeing one Captain Marvel.

In an interview with Sway's Universe (via The Direct), Samuel L. Jackson, who is set to appear in The Marvels reprising his role of Nick Fury, revealed that the film will have three Captain Marvels as he claimed that Monica and Kamala will take on the mantle as well.

"After Secret Invasion, I’m moving on to The Marvels, where you got like three different people who are Captain Marvel. You got Brie [Larson], you got a Black Captain Marvel, and you got a Muslim Captain Marvel," he said.

"So, they’re working on the universe in a way that’s inclusive. Even like Shang-Chi and all those things that happen there."

Prior to Jackson's claim in the interview, fans were speculating that Monica Rambeau's superhero name would be Photon and now it sounds like she will be named Captain Marvel as well if Jackson was right in his comment.

There's also a chance that the Nick Fury actor might also be mistaken and perhaps not all three characters won't really take the Captain Marvel name when they're on their superhero identity, especially Kamala since she is established as Ms. Marvel already.

Nevertheless, it sounds like the three characters' team-up in the upcoming film will be formidable which is why the title refers to all of them instead of just simply being a Captain Marvel sequel.

We should be hearing more details about this in the coming months as it is set to be the next movie in the MCU.
