The Mandalorian Season 3 Theory Suggests Moff Gideon is STILL ALIVE

The final episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 certainly has fans buzzing with its surprising ending. But besides all that, new theories have sprouted left and right about the future of the Star Wars series. For instance, one theory suggests that Moff Gideon is still alive despite his fiery exit in Chapter 24.

In The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 8, Din Djarin managed to escape his guards with the help of Grogu and took control of the command room that held Moff Gideon's clones. Djarin eliminated the clones and was confronted by Gideon.

Luckily for Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze swooped in and helped him and Grogu defeat Gideon, who was burned alive when the fallen Mandalorian flagship crashed into the Imperial base.

But is it truly the end for Moff Gideon? Redditors are arguing that the Gideon who faced off against Bo-Katan, Djarin, and Grogu may have been a clone and that the real Gideon is still out there somewhere.

"The fact that the Gideon we saw throughout this whole season didn't have the mustache, and had noticeably different colored hair, I'd say it was a clone all along," one Redditor wrote.

It's certainly an interesting detail to notice but they could be on to something here. After all, the third season of The Mandalorian made it clear that clones were important and there's a huge chance that the real Gideon is still out there somewhere.

On the other hand, it's still possible that all of the Gideon clones (and Gideon himself) who were on the base on Mandalore were killed.

However, there could be another Gideon clone hidden somewhere and we could meet that one in the fourth season. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 8 is officially titled Chapter 24: The Return. All eight episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3 are now streaming on Disney+.
