Rumor came out yesterday that Spider-Man: Homecoming's Zendaya was being courted for the lead of the live-action The Little Mermaid; no confirmation came from Disney or her reps, but that hasn't stopped everyone from speculating what she would look like if she did get the job.

I like how natural the red hair looks in the photo, but I think the film might go another way for the seashell bra. At this point, I think the shells have become iconic, but I wouldn't blame Disney for trying to go for a more grounded feel.
How about starfish instead?
Like I said, there hasn't been any confirmation on Zendaya getting the role, but some people are already excited to see what she would bring to the table. We know she has the musical chops already, and she's a big enough name to be a box office draw.
The Little Mermaid is considered to be the film that kickstarted Disney's ‘animated Renaissance' in the 90s, and a lot of people are hoping that this live-action version will be able to do the original justice. If anything, the pressure is on for director Rob Marshall to deliver something great.
No release date has been set for The Little Mermaid, but I wouldn't be surprised if the film was announced for a 2020 release.
