The Last of Us Fans FREAK OUT Over Major Part II Character Appearance

WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for The Last of Us Episode 6 new characters appearances, so if you aren’t up to speed yet, read at your own risk!

The Last of Us Episode 6 introduced a couple of key characters in the Naughty Dog video game and apart from Joel finally reuniting with his brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna) and meeting Tommy’s wife, Maria (Rutina Wesley), we’ve got a good first look at Ellie’s Part II lover, Dina.

Considering that Dina was only introduced in The Last of Us Part II video game, getting our first look at the live-action Dina made fans freak out over Ellie practically snubbing her future lover at first meet! This is quite important, since Dina will be a part of Ellie’s journey in The Last of Us Part II, and The Last of Us Episode 7 is also bound to introduce a backstory of Ellie’s former girlfriend, Riley (played by Storm Reid).

The Last of Us Fans FREAK OUT Over Dina's Appearance in Episode 6

The Last of Us is no stranger when it comes to depicting LGBTQ+ romances on screen, and Ellie is in no way ashamed of her own sexuality, which is why fans took their excitement to Twitter on FINALLY getting to meet the future Dina in the series ahead of The Last of Us Season 2! Check out some of the fan reactions below:

One thing fans don’t have to look out for with Dina is her potential death. Dina is one of the few people that ends up staying alive in Ellie’s life, but most evidently in The Last of Us Part II. Of course, this is not to say there’s no trouble in their eventual paradise, but overall, Dina was one of the first people involved once Ellie grows into adulthood.

For now, though, The Last of Us Episode 7 reveals Ellie’s backstory with Riley, where they both end up at an abandoned mall to get away from military school, only for both characters to meet their unfortunate fate. But one of those fates is how Ellie discovers she’s immune to the Cordyceps outbreak.

The Last of Us Episode 7 will be available to stream on HBO Max on February 26, Sunday.
