The Good Bad Mother is only on its fourth episode on Netflix but the twists in the show are too good to miss. After seeing Choi Kang Ho (played by Lee Do Hyun) in an accident in the second episode, avid fans are already thinking about who could be behind his attempted murder.
Kang Ho’s Accident: The Likely Suspects
The usual suspect, of course, is Song Woo Byeok (played by Choi Moo Sung), Kang Ho's boss and adopted father. Many can't help but think that Chairman Song is behind Kang Ho's murder because he was with his fiance, Oh Ha Young, (played by Hong Bi Ra) just moments before the incident took place.
After murdering his father 35 years before, Woo Byeok is the likely suspect.
It's possible that Woo Byeok learned what Kang Ho was plotting and got to him before he could do anything. After all, Kang Ho was doing his best to get adopted as his son.
With such scenarios, it's easy to see why Woo Byeok is the primary suspect behind the attempted murder.
Of course, there's also the possibility that Oh Tae Soo (played by Jung Woong In) could be behind the attempted murder. We learned that Tae Soo did not approve of Kang Ho's intention of marrying his daughter, Ha Young.
During their meeting, Tae Soo warned Kang Ho to leave his daughter and not spoil his plans of letting his daughter marry into a rich and prominent family. Of course, Kang Ho gave him the shock of his life when he approached Chairman Song and asked him to adopt him.
It seems like killing off Kang Ho was the only logical way he could put a stop to the engagement. Not to mention, to get rid of the risk that Kang Ho could discover that he was involved in his biological father's death.
But since his daughter could have been part of the accident, many seemed to brush this idea off.
Who Is Behind Kang Ho’s Accident?
Thankfully, the answer to this mystery was solved in the third episode of The Good Bad Mother. When the third episode started, Tae Soo can be seen rushing to his daughter's side after the accident.
After making sure she was unharmed, he hugged her and whispered "Good job" in her ear. This came as a complete shock since Ha Young seemed to be head over heels for Kang Ho.
But in the next scene, we see a flashback of Ha Young seemingly losing her scarf in an open window and exiting the vehicle just before the truck rammed the car over a cliff. Not to mention, she dropped something into Kang Ho's water bottle that made him fall asleep.
She also insisted on driving Kang Ho home instead of resting in the passenger seat. All these facts explained the incident leading to Kang Ho's accident.
To make sure his tracks won't be discovered, however, Tae Soo had the truck burned and even killed the driver after they paid him off.
In The Good Bad Mother Episode 5, Ha Young has a flashback from not so long ago.
Just before she leaves to visit Kang Ho's hometown, her father shows her a stolen clip of her fiance pushing a car into the water. The car had passengers inside it: an unconscious woman and her newborn child, whom Tae Soo claimed was Kang Ho's girlfriend.
Unconvinced, Ha Young asks her father why he did not show the video to the police. He tells her that 30 years ago, he was involved in the murder of Kang Ho's father.
Ha Young reluctantly believes her father and plans to take revenge on Kang Ho's gruesome murder. She believes she could end up in the same situation if she marries Kang Ho.
Unfortunately, Ha Young doesn't know that the woman was actually her father's secretary and mistress. The baby was also his illegitimate child.
Kang Ho was actually ordered by Chairman Song to take care of Tae Soo's mistress and child. Despite him following orders, fans are hoping that Kang Ho did not actually commit such a heinous crime.
Is Woo Byeok Mad at Tae Soo’s Attempt to Kill Kang Ho?
We're not entirely certain whether Woo Byeok is mad at Tae Soo for attempting to kill Kang Ho.
As we learned in Episode 4, Woo Byeok knows who Kang Ho's biological father has been all this time. But instead of confronting him about it, he allows Kang Ho to think that he has won him over.
He has even given in to Kang Ho's suggestion of adopting him as his son. Woo Byeok explains to Tae Soo that he plans on using Kang Ho and drops him when he is no longer useful.
It's possible that Kang Ho's accident was a blessing for him against Woo Byeok's plans for the future. Hopefully, Kang Ho won't return to his evil ways and will be a better person when he recovers his memory.
