The Glory actor Kim Gun Woo almost had a different career.

Before the hit Netflix series happened, Kim Gun Woo had appeared in several drama series already. He starred in the 2017 hit series Fight for My Way, Live, Less than Evil, Catch the Ghost, and Record of Youth.

But before starting his journey as an actor, he almost had a different career in the industry.

Kim Gun Woo Recalls JYP Audition Experience

The Glory actor recently appeared on the April 9 episode of My Little Old Boy, where he talked about several topics, including his love life and career.

Shin Dong Yup revealed to the hosts and viewers that the actor was famous for his singing skills when he was still a student. It turned out Kim Gun Woo even became a vocalist in a rock band.

What surprised everyone, even more, was the fact that Kim Gun Woo auditioned to become an idol through JYP Entertainment. However, he revealed that he only made it to the second round of the auditions.

"I'm not that good at singing, though," he said.

The MC also asked him to sing for them, with Kim Gun Woo soon sharing a snippet of him singing an acapella of Lee Juck's Lie Lie Lie. While he did not pass the auditions, Kim Gun Woo led himself to a career that brought him to the spotlight.

Kim Gun Woo Makes It To 59th Baeksang Arts Awards Nominees

Although he did not become an idol, Kim Gun Woo scored an impressive place at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards nominations.

Baeksang Awards' official website unveiled this year's nominees ahead of its ceremony on April 28 at Paradise City. Fans can tune in and watch the awards ceremony live via JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4.

TikTok will also broadcast the event live.

Kim Gun Woo scored a nomination for the Best New Actor category. He is up against Weak Hero Class 1 Hong Kyung, Extraordinary Attorney Woo's Joo Jong Hyuk, Under the Queen's Umbrella Moon Sang Min, and New Recruit Kim Min Ho.
