The Flash Movie Production Gets Delayed Again

Warner Brothers just keeps pushing the production of The Flash movie backward.

According to Variety,The Flash's beginning of production has been moved to late 2019 at the earliest, meaning that the film's release will come around sometime in 2021. Apparently, the studio had to delay the film's production because of work on the script. With the script still undergoing revisions, the studio no longer believes that The Flash will be ready to begin production as previously scheduled.

This is definitely disappointing news for fans. Everyone has been hoping for The Flash movie to come and spice things up by touching on Geoff John's Flashpoint comic book series – a limited core miniseries that showcases an altered DC universe Cyborg is celebrated as much as the main timeline's Superman, the Man of Steel is being held captive as a lab rat by the US Government, Thomas Wayne becomes Batman after the killing of his son, Bruce, and an all-out war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman obliterate Europe.

Of course, a few changes to The Flash's production ought to be expected. DC Films just recently restructured this year with producers Chantal Nong and Walter Hamada now at the head of the company. Following a new production philosophy, it would make sense that Warner Brothers would delay The Flash. The studio wouldn't want to force the film into production unprepared and cause another mess like Justice League.

Warner Brothers has made its mistakes building the DCEU before, but it looks like the studio is setting out to correct itself.

The Flash doesn't have a specific release date yet but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
