The Flash featured several cameo appearances of characters from past DC films and TV shows during the climactic multiverse sequence. However, considering that most of them are already deceased, they were brought back through CGI based on archive footage.
One of the deceased actors that "returned" in the movie's multiverse sequence is Christopher Reeves as Superman, who showed up briefly alongside the Helen Slater version of Supergirl.
However, the character's CGI appearance was criticized by many fans due to the ethical implications of bringing back deceased actors through digital likeness and their usage for a cheap fan service moment.
Now, months after the film's release, Reeves' children are finally weighing in on the CGI return of their deceased father in the DCEU film.

Christopher Reeves' Children Never Watched The Flash CGI Cameo
Speaking with Variety at the Sundance Film Festival to discuss the new documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, Christopher Reeves' children were asked for their thoughts surrounding their late father's CGI cameo in The Flash.
They revealed that none of them had watched the film and they were not involved in their father's cameo appearance.
Will, one of Christopher's sons, also discussed how his father's iconic turn as Superman overshadowed some of the other roles that he also did in his career.
"In our hometown in Bedford, New York, the local movie theater went through a rebrand a few years ago. The person in charge of that shift reached out to me and said they’d love to have me screen a film of my choice of my dad’s," he said.
"I responded, 'Sure, but not Superman. We’re going to do Remains of the Day.' He was so proud of his role in that movie. It’s not a big role. It’s an important role in the film. He got to show a completely different side of himself. I knew how proud he was of that.
Will added, "Not that he wasn’t proud of Superman... but if he were here he wouldn’t choose Superman, he’d choose Remains of the Day. I don’t think about the Superman films as much as I do about the swings he got took beyond this larger-than-life role."
It is an interesting comment from the late actor's children and it makes you wonder more about the ethical implications of his CGI cameo since it sounded like Warner Bros. did not need the consent of the family to use his likeness.
Now, with the new documentary, Reeves' children are making sure that the actor's legacy will continue to live on and that he will be remembered for who he was back when he was still living, rather than bringing him back for a lifeless CGI appearance.
