The Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo is Everything Fans Wanted and More

Square Enix has finally released the Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo and it's pretty much everything fans have been asking for. The game is gorgeous, supporting characters like Jessie are fleshed out more, and, most importantly, the gameplay is fun as hell. We've only played one hour of this game via the demo and it's clear that this remake is going to be something really special, even if we wish that it were complete and not just all of Midgar.

Fans have been enjoying the demo as well, with many of them praising various bits of the game, whether it be the aforementioned gameplay, the remixed music that hits your nostalgia spot more than your dad did, and even the hair physics. A lot of fans are also surprised as to how "thirsty" Jessie is, as the character flirts with Cloud quite a bit, which was in the original game but wasn't as apparent.

We're sure that Square Enix is happy with the reactions since it's a good indication that their game is going to sell a lot. Critical reception is also pretty important so knowing that fans are enjoying their demo is also good. Now, let's hope that they keep this kind of quality up for the sequels/follow-ups since the game will only detail everything until Midgar.

It will be interesting to see if Square Enix releases similar demos after the success of this Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo. While a couple of them still pop up sometimes, demos are a rare breed these days, with companies usually releasing them after the game has been released. It's an odd decision but is likely done to increase sales and, well, we can't blame them for that.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo is out now. The game itself will be coming out on April 10 for the PS4.
