The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Star Wyatt Russell Hopeful for US Agent's Return

Disney+'s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier centers on Sam Wilson as he picks up the Captain America mantle after Steve Rogers finally proceeds to retirement. Alongside Sam and Bucky, the series also introduced a worrying replacement to the honorable Captain America reputation with John Walker's arrival, widely known as US Agent. The series concluded with Walker being recruited into a mysterious operation led by Val, foreshadowing that the Disney+ series won't be the character's last appearance.

While fans wonder when they'll see the US Agent again, Wyatt Russell also weighs in on his potential return.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wyatt Russell was present to promote FX's new limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. When asked if he wants an MCU crossover with co-star Andrew Garfield, "Sure. I’ll let you pitch that to Kevin Feige," Russell admitted. "If you come to Marvel, you can go pitch that to Kevin Feige and see if he likes it. I’ll do a crossover with anyone they tell me to do a crossover with.”

The actor continued and discussed how he truly enjoys playing the US Agent and hopes that he could once again reprise the character.

“I really enjoy playing the character, and my experience working with Marvel was an unbelievable working experience and collaborative, working with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and Kari Skogland. The teams they have there are unbelievable. It’s why they make great things. So, anytime I get the opportunity or hear about the chance to reprise a character or work for Marvel again, it’s very exciting because the people are wonderful. So, hopefully, I’ll get to do it again. We’ll see,” the actor concluded.

Russell's US Agent character is one of the many complex characters the MCU has. However, for now, it's clear that US Agent is being developed into a more dangerous potential villain after the ending of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series sees the character being recruited by a mysterious woman named Val. While Val's influence on Walker's villainous future remains unknown, it appears that she is building her own lineup of grounded villains that would surely include Russell's US Agent.

Lastly, Russell could also reprise the role in Anthony Mackie's Captain America 4, especially after the cliffhanger of the series hints at more potential stories with the violent character.
