One of the most anticipated sci-fi movies of this year is getting released soon. If you're watching The Creator, you may be asking is there a post-credits scene?

The Creator is Gareth Edwards' original sci-fi movie that has a lot of potential to be as big as Star Wars or The Terminator movies. The film is set decades into the future and follows the story of Joshua Taylor (played by John David Washington) as he plays a vital role in the war between humans and AI.

Thanks to Joshua's unexpected relationship with a powerful AI with a child's body named Alphie (played by Madeleine Yuna Voyles), the narrative of whether humans can coexist with AI gets an answer.

In this article, we'll be talking about whether this sci-fi movie has a post-credits scene to look forward to. Here's what we know so far.

Is The Creator Based on Another Story Arc?

It's easy to get confused with The Creator's history, especially since Gareth Edwards has a history of movies that are part of a franchise or connecting to one.

He also directed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which explains why The Creator has some similar characteristics in its cinematography.

Unfortunately, The Creator is not based on any existing IP. This is Edwards' original creation. One that he wrote and directed by himself.

With the movie coming out on Friday, September 29, 2023, you may have plans to watch the film. If you have gotten used to past films where an after-credits scene is often something to look forward to, you may be in for disappointment.

It has been confirmed that The Creator does not have a post-credits scene.

This means that before the credits start to roll, the movie comes to a complete close. You won't have to wait for a mid-credits scene or a special reel at the end of the credits roll.

Why Doesn't It Have One?

So why doesn't The Creator have a post-credits scene? The simple answer is that it doesn't need one.

The entirety of the film was told in The Creator. There is also no plan to continue the story as a sequel or a prequel.

The Creator director confirmed to Polygon that he has no plans to make The Creator 2.

“It’s a one-off. I really like stories that have a beginning, middle, and end, and that are self-contained.”

But again, this might change sometime down the road. For now, though, the director is firm with his decision.

“I love the world. I love robots. I love Southeast Asia. I love the future. It’s going to be hard to do something set in the future and not have it feel like this. We landed on a lot of things that I really liked. But no. It’d be a high-class problem for the studio to ask for a sequel, but I’m not intending to [make one]. I haven’t got anything planned.”

With this in mind, there is no reason a post-credits scene will help the film in any way. There is nothing to tease since the story of The Creator ends before the credits start rolling on the screen.
