The Boys Season 3 Update: Showrunner Teases When Fans Will See Glimpse of Fan-Favorite Heroes

Showrunner Eric Kripke gave fans a new update about the much-awaited The Boys Season 3. Almost two years after the second ended, viewers would soon get a glimpse of their favorite heroes.

It can’t be denied that Amazon Prime Video’s superhero series has become an instant fan-favorite after two seasons. Now, all eyes are on The Boys Season 3, especially with the return of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid).

Kripke announced the status of the series on Twitter. So, in no time, fans will see what they’re about to witness in the third season.

“Alright, here’s an update on #TheBoysTV since you keep asking & I’m buzzed. We’ve final mixed 4 out of 8,” he said. “Couple hundred VFX shots to finish, but they’re awesome. Just locked our first trailer today, will be out in a few weeks. GET READY.”

As Kripke said, half of the season is still mixed and much visual effects work still needs to be done. By the looks of it, there’s still a lot of work they have to do before they finally finish the new season. Anyhow, the good news is the trailer will soon be out.

Fans have been waiting for The Boys Season 3’s release since the renewal came before the second season debuted. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic put the world on the stop, including the entertainment scene, the show’s production was also halted.

However, as the cast and crew had completed the filming in 2021, the show would soon return to the small screens this year.

The new season is expected to feature a number of “outlandish setpieces and socially and politically relevant topics,” per Screenrant. However, its bigger story remains under lock and key.

Anyhow, fans expect to see Homelander (Antony Starr) be more on edge than usual, while Starlight (Erin Moriarty) will lead Vought’s superhero team, the Seven. Of course, Billy and Hughie will also make their comeback, along with other The Boys Season 3 major roles and more.

In addition, the new season will adapt the Herogasm even from the comic book of the same name, which it’s based on, from Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson.

Meanwhile, though the third season is yet to be out, CBR noted the show has already received its early Season 4 renewal. The franchise will also release an animated anthology series, The Boys: Presents: Diabolical, which few episodes will be canon in The Boys universe.

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 3 are set to be out on June 3 on Amazon Prime Video. Its first two seasons are also available for streaming on the said television channel.

Alternatively, The Boys: Presents: Diabolical will be released on March 4 also on Amazon Prime Video.
