The Bad Batch: Michelle Ang 'Genuinely Devastated' by Season 2 Shocking Finale

The final episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 was understandably traumatic for fans, but it looks like even the cast of the animated series was shocked by what happened in Plan 99. Michelle Ang has spoken up about working on Episode 16 and she admits she was "genuinely devastated" when she learned what would happen in the season finale.

In The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 16, Clone Force 99 was stuck in a rail car unable to escape Imperial forces. To help the rest of the team escape, Tech sacrifices himself and falls to his death.

Tech's death was truly shocking for viewers and even Michelle Ang had no idea that the character will be killed off until it was time to record her lines as Omega.

"I normally get the scripts about a week before the recording session, which is really plenty to read and internalize what's going on," Ang told StarWars.com. "But I had no idea -- not even an inkling! -- that we were going to lose one of the Batch. And definitely not Tech!"

She continued by confirming that she was expecting Tech to play a larger role in the future episodes of The Bad Batch because of everything that had previously happened in the second season.

"If anything, it felt like they were building Tech up to be the new primary relationship. So, I was genuinely devastated. It felt a little bit like it was a prank or something. I was really shocked," Ang said.

It's certainly understandable that Michelle Ang felt that way and most fans are refusing to believe that Tech is actually dead. Some people theorize that Tech will be revealed to have survived the fall and has been taken to Mount Tantiss along with Omega and Crosshair. With that in mind, we're hoping Tech is okay and will be back in The Bad Batch Season 3.
