After releasing its first teaser a few months ago, The Apothecary Diaries anime just released another trailer that showed off stunning new scenes. The anime’s new trailer also confirms the series’ release date later this year.
While the light novel series that it’s based on already has a sizeable following, the release of the newest trailer seems to have impressed anime fans enough that more people are now looking forward to its premiere.
This makes sense if you watch the trailer given that, despite its length, it features lots of eye-catching scenes.
The Apothecary Diaries Trailer Impresses Fans With Beautiful Visuals
The Apothecary Diaries is an anime by TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM – the studio behind titles such as Odd Taxi, Komi Can’t Communicate, and Summer Time Rendering, among other shows.
Although the previous trailer is longer at over 2 minutes, this new trailer is only less than a minute long.
Despite this, it’s still a must-see for anime fans as it shows off more of the anime’s gorgeous visuals.

The new trailer also revealed that Takeo Otsuka (Aqua Hoshino in Oshi no Ko) is the newest VA to join the anime’s voice cast. In the series, Otsuka voices Jinshi, one of the primary characters.
Shortly after the trailer’s release, many fans shared their excitement for the series, especially as it seems a lot of effort is being poured into the show based on the visually stunning scenes that were teased.

The Apothecary Diaries Confirms October 2023 Release Date
Along with its great visuals, many are excited about The Apothecary Diaries given its unique premise.
Specifically, the series follows Maomao, a young pharmacist in a country in the east that’s implied to be China.
The series starts as Maomao is kidnapped and sold as a servant to the imperial palace.
Despite her circumstances, Maomao’s experience as a pharmacist helps her solve a mysterious illness that affected the Emperor’s children.
Because of this, Maomao catches the attention of a eunuch named Jinshi. And soon, Maomao is enlisted to help solve various mysteries in the court.
On top of its interesting story and visuals, fans are also excited to hear the show’s soundtrack as it’s made by Kevin Penkin, the renowned composer of the Made in Abyss and Tower of God scores.
The Apothecary Diaries will be released in October 2023, with a Crunchyroll release confirmed for the US and other selected regions.
