Following the announcement of its Japanese release a few months back, the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime movie recently confirmed its international cinema release window, including the target release month and countries where it will be screened.

News about the film’s international release was shared online via the movie’s official website. There, the initial list of countries was revealed, along with its December target rollout.

In case you’re unfamiliar, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is an isekai anime series by 8Bit that is based on the light novel series of the same name by Fuse.

The series began as a web novel but was soon picked up by Micro Magazine and published as a light novel series.

Thanks to its popularity, the series received a manga adaptation along with several spin-off manga.

The anime began with a two-cour first season that aired from October 2018 to March 2019.

A follow-up second season was released in a split-cour schedule, which aired in the Winter 2021 and Summer 2021 seasons.

The upcoming movie is entitled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bonds (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Guren no Kizuna in Japanese), and it is the first anime movie adaptation in the series.

Its story follows protagonist Rimuru Tempest as he gets involved in a conspiracy that revolves around the Queen of Raja.

The movie also sees Rimuru and his companions cross paths with Hiiro, a survivor of the Ogre race.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Movie US Release Date

In Japan, the film is set to release on November 25, 2022, in select cinemas, but it’s now confirmed that the movie will begin rolling out in December in several countries outside Japan too.

After this initial rollout, the movie is confirmed to screen in the following regions:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • South and Central America

While there’s no specific date yet, it’s expected that countries such as the US will get screenings of the movie in early 2023. This is according to previous reports of Crunchyroll which is handling the film's international distribution (except in Asia).

Aside from these countries, the film’s staff is also planning to release the film in other countries and regions that aren’t on the list above.
