Tessa Thompson Apologizes for Accidentally Spoiling Major Detail About Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder

In just one more month of anticipation, the long-awaited Thor: Love and Thunder will finally premiere in theaters. Aside from Chris Hemsworth's return as the God of Thunder, the upcoming film will also see the return of Jane Foster, Korg, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Valkyrie.

Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie is set to have a more substantial role in the upcoming Thor film. Avengers: Endgame concluded with Valkyrie as the new King of Asgard, a title that she appears to maintain now that Thor is on a self-rediscovery journey. Love and Thunder teasers also hint that Foster's Lady Thor and Valkyrie would have a fun dynamic in the upcoming film that would somehow outshine Hemsworth's Thor throughout the film.

However, long before the Thor: Love and Thunder trailers arrived, Tessa Thompson accidentally leaked a major detail about her role as Valkyrie in the upcoming film.

In an interview with Fandango All Access, Tessa Thompson discussed how she accidentally leaked Valkyrie’s costume in Thor: Love and Thunder. “Oh, that… no. See… I sent a picture to my stepmom and she posted it on Instagram," Thompson said. "Yeah, [it] wasn’t me and it’s a big thing. She feels terrible. I’m so sorry, Marvel. I’m so sorry, Disney. It’s not my fault. I will never– I’m never gonna send selfies again.”

Gladly, these kinds of incidents aren't something new in the MCU. Mark Ruffalo once live-streamed Thor: Ragnarok's premiere, and just recently, Ms. Marvel director also accidentally leaked Kamala Khan's costume through her Instagram post.

Gladly, there's actually no need for Thompson to apologize after leaking Valkyrie's costume. In fact, fans were thrilled to see Valkryie's new look and it undoubtedly added anticipation to the upcoming film.

Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on July 8.
