Thor: Love and Thunder Official Runtime Revealed

We're now just a few weeks away before Thor: Love and Thunder head into theaters and fans have been looking forward to seeing the God of Thunder's next journey in the MCU after the events of Avengers: Endgame in addition to the return of Jane Foster. As we are getting closer to its release, we finally have the information regarding its runtime.

Ahead of its ticket sale date, AMC has listed the runtime for Thor: Love and Thunder at 1 hour and 59 minutes or 119 minutes. This makes it the shortest MCU theatrical film since 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp which had a runtime of 118 minutes. Most recent MCU films have a runtime of more than 2 hours.

In comparison with the other Thor films, the first one had a runtime of 115 minutes, The Dark World only had 112 minutes, and Ragnarok is the longest one so far with 130 minutes. The previous MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had a runtime of 126 minutes.

Understandably so, it might be slightly jarring to hear that the runtime of the film (which includes the entire credits) is only under 2 hours since most MCU films have been much longer. However, at the end of the day, the runtime doesn't give us an idea about the quality of the film as it all depends on the right pacing of the story that Taika Waititi is trying to tell.

We won't find out until we see the film if the 119-minute runtime is right for the film. While they have a lot of elements to juggle with the appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the reintroduction of Jane Foster, the introduction of Gorr the God Buther as the antagonist, and Thor's personal arc, we do know that Waititi is a great storyteller and he has proven that we can trust him that he will deliver another great film in the franchise.
