It has been a few months now since the show’s 12th episode was released, but that doesn’t mark the end of the anime’s first season. That’s because Synduality: Noir is coming back with its second cour on Disney+ this January.
The show’s release was revealed via its official X (formerly Twitter) account. Along with its Disney+ premiere, the second cour also got its broadcast schedule in Japan.
On top of this, a new character was also highlighted who will play a big role in the next set of episodes.
Synduality: Noir Will Return With a Brand-New Character
Synduality: Noir is a sci-fi anime by Bandai Namco Filmworks and anime studio Eight Bit (of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime fame). The show’s first season began in July 2023.
It’s an original anime series, though it’s somewhat similar to the likes of Estab Life as it’s a mixed-media project featuring an ongoing manga and light novel, as well as an upcoming third-person action RPG.
The game does not have a release date yet, but the anime’s return this January should make the wait for fans more bearable. Plus, the show’s second cour will be an intriguing one as it will introduce a new character.
This new character is named Mystere. Based on her official character visual, she’s essentially a dark-colored version of Noir. Thus, she is also voiced by Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War).
Koga will return to the series alongside other cast members from the first cour. These include the likes of Nagisa Aoyama (Ren Hazuki in Love Live! Superstar!!) and Takeo Otsuka (Aqua Hoshino in Oshi no Ko).

Synduality: Noir Second Cour to Release in January 2024 Exclusively on Disney+
Synduality: Noir is one of this year’s Disney+ exclusive anime, alongside the likes of Heavenly Delusion and Tokyo Revengers Season 2.
This is part of Disney+’s strategy of increasing its anime library to compete with other streaming platforms that are doing the same such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The second cour of Synduality: Noir is set to be released on Disney+ on January 8, 2024. In Japan, the anime will also air on select networks, including TV Tokyo, TVO, and TV Aichi.
There’s no official word yet on an episode count for the first season. Given the length of the first cour, chances are that the second cour will also be composed of 12 episodes.
