Superman: Red Son is Now Available Digitally, Blu-Ray Coming Out Next Month

Superman: Red Son is considered by many to be one of the best Elseworlds tales from DC Comics, which makes sense since it comes from acclaimed writer Mark Millar. Seeing a great alternate reality where Superman's spaceship lands on Russia instead of America gave us a completely unique experience that has yet to be matched, hence the excitement over the animated adaptation.

If you love the comic book, you'll be happy to know that the Superman: Red Son movie is now available on digital stores, with the Blu-Ray coming out next month. Obviously, those that love physical editions will wait a bit while the more impatient of us are going to get the digital version right away.

Unlike something like Justice League Dark or Batman: Hush, Red Son is going to be an alternate tale on Superman and will therefore not be canon with the DCAU. Once again, not a surprise if you're familiar with the beloved comic book but that does explain why the art and animation are of slightly higher quality.

Hopefully, this leads to other Elseworlds titles like Kingdom Come.

Based on DC's famed Elseworlds tale from 2003, Superman: Red Son takes place in an alternate reality where the spaceship bearing the last survivor of Krypton crash lands – not in rural Kansas, but in Stalinist Russia. Can this Cold War-era Earth survive the coming of a Soviet Superman?

You can download Superman: Red Son right now, while the Blu-Ray is available on March 17.
