Street Fighter V Won't Have a Season Pass for 2019 DLC Characters

Street Fighter V might have launched as an incomplete game but it has since become a decent game with a solid roster, assuming you pay for the rest of the fighters. Sure, you can use the in-game Fight Money to get these fighters but it would save you a lot of time to just shell out the cash. At least Arcade Mode and the other new gameplay modes are free updates.

Capcom recently announced that the latest season of the game was underway, with the new character Kage already available for download. Oddly enough, Kage will not be a part of a season pass like previous DLC characters. In fact, none of the 2019 DLC characters will be a part of a pass for reasons unknown, though it was Capcom themselves who announced the news on Twitter.

Many are viewing this as the end of Street Fighter V, with some of us thinking that Capcom will stop supporting the title after 2019 and move on to something else. Capcom is home to several big-name franchises so it will be odd seeing them move away from this iteration of Street Fighter.

Fans will probably wonder if a Street Fighter VI is on the horizon, though that game will likely come when the next gaming console does. It would be a bit of a waste developing a new Street Fighter game for the PS4, with many feeling like a PS5 will be coming out in a few years.

Street Fighter V and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is available now on PS4 and PC.
