The Netflix show is soon coming to an end with Stranger Things Season 5, as declared previously by the Duffer Brothers. Even one of the stars of the show, Finn Wolfhard, agrees that it would be difficult to see the show extend up to a Season 6, considering the whole story is almost finished. However, the Duffer Brothers did express interest in developing a spinoff and now, a new report has indicated that the spinoff would reportedly feature Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven as its main focus (via Giant Freaking Robot).
Millie Bobby Brown rose to fame in her portrayal of the protagonist Eleven or Jane beginning with Stranger Things Season 1 up to its most recent Stranger Things Season 4. There is no denying that if there is anyone on the show deserving of their own spinoff show, it’s Eleven. Unfortunately, the Stranger Things writers debunked the report to be false. Check out their replied tweet below:
Little is known on what exactly the Duffer Brothers are planning for the Stranger Things spinoff, however, Finn Wolfhard did admit that he managed to guess the entire plot the co-creators had in mind. While we have yet to receive updates on the potential spinoff, Stranger Things Season 5 is still currently in production, so any updates on a spinoff would have to wait.
It is also unclear as to which Stranger Things spinoff the rumor is referring to, seeing as it was also revealed last year that a Stranger Things anime series was reportedly in development at Netflix.
The anime series is planned to be around 6 hours long, bearing the title Stranger Things: Tokyo, which stars “video game-loving twin brothers living on the outskirts of 1980s Tokyo.” The animated series is said to delve into their adventures in the Upside Down, which will inevitably connect its world in Stranger Things’ Netflix series.
Meanwhile, Stranger Things Season 5 is expected to be released in mid-2024.
