Stranger Things: Metallica's TikTok Duet with Eddie Munson Goes Viral

One of the highlights of the fourth season finale of Stranger Things is Eddie Munson's guitar riff on Metallica's "Master of Puppets." The sequence didn't just receive praise from fans, but the iconic heavy metal band behind the hit song gave it a seal of approval as well. As a result, just like Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill," "Master of Puppets" made its mark again on the music charts.

Recently, as a tribute to the character and a way of showing their appreciation for the show's use of their song, Metallica posted a duet video with the Eddie Munson guitar riff scene on TikTok and, since then, it has gone viral as it received 8.4 million views, 1.9 million likes, 20,700+ comments, and 117,200+ number of shares (as of the time of this writing).

You can check the video below which was reposted by Netflix's official Twitter account:

It is awesome to see Metallica posting this video as it just shows how enthusiastic they are that the hit Netflix show is using their song as part of a pivotal scene in the episode and they really made an effort to do a TikTok video about it.

While they already gave their seal of approval days ago, this is certainly another proof that they are delighted about the scene and it's their salute to the deceased Eddie Munson, who would have been happy to see his favorite heavy metal band praise him. Now, their "duet" is now viral which shows that fans are loving their "collaboration" as well.

This is yet again another proof of how the show has become a huge phenomenon and revitalized the current generation's interest in the pop culture of the 80s. It would be interesting to see if the fifth season will result in another similar situation.
