Metallica's Master of Puppets Rises on the Charts Following Stranger Things Season 4's Feature

Just like Kate Bush's 80s hit Running Up That Hill, Metallica's Master of Puppets was also given a massive push, all thanks to Netflix's hit series, Stranger Things.

Aside from the Hawkins gang's thrilling adventure into the Upside Down and their battle with the show's latest spine-chilling villain named Vecna, the show's 80s soundtrack was one of the many flawless things about the new installment of the series. In Volume One's Dear Billy episode, the Hawkins gang played Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill to help Max flee from Vecna. Shortly after, the whole world was already streaming Kate Bush's 1985 hit, and the song easily went back on the charts after more than 30 years.

Now, Metallica's Master of Puppets also rises on the charts after being featured in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume Two. At one sequence in Season 4's Part Two, Eddie played an awesome guitar solo of Metallica's Master of Puppets to distract Vecna's Demobats. While Quinn was undoubtedly iconic playing the Metallica hit, fans all over the world were astonished by hearing the 80s song once again and streamed it following its inclusion on the show.

Metallica's 1986 hit Master of Puppets climbed up to no. 47 at Spotify's Top 50: Global and is now at the second spot on Itunes’ Top 100 (via PopVortex), following Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill still sitting still remains as the #1 song a month after its inclusion in the show.

Although it's not as tremendous as what Stranger Things Volume 1 did to Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, which reportedly earned $2.3 Million after its inclusion in the series, it's still delightful to see how some songs from the 80s are returning on the charts more than three generations later. With that said, this is just a testament to how Stranger Things have grown triumphantly and its remarkable influence that goes on a global scale.
