Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard Terrorizes Mackenzie Davis in The Turning Trailer

What's scarier than a haunted house? Maybe the two creepy kids who live in it. The new trailer for the horror flick The Turning proves that even innocent children can be dangerous when left to their own devices long enough.

The trailer opens with the arrival of the young nanny (Mackenzie Davis) at a huge mansion where she is immediately criticized by the housekeeper. The older woman herself seems a little unusual, referring to the children that Kate will be watching as "thoroughbreds".

The reference to horses might be odd but it's immediately clear that Miles (Finn Wolfhard) and Flora (Brooklynn Prince) are even stranger. The boy doesn't waste time spooking a horse into moving while Kate is riding it and the little girl warns the nanny not to go to "that part of the house." Why? Well, because weird things like disembodied hands get a little touchy down there.

The Turning is actually an adaptation of the Henry James novella The Turning of the Screw, which also happens to be the book that will be adapted in the second season of The Haunting on Netflix. We're not sure which one will be creepier but the sight of a gigantic spider coming out of Miles' mouth might win this one for The Turning.

The film is directed by Floria Sigismundi, who once creeped out everyone with her music videos for Marilyn Manson, David Bowie, and Tricky. Something tells me there will be no shortage on creepy visuals in this movie.

The Turning is scheduled for release on January 24, 2020.
