Star Wars Voice Actor and Smallville Alum Sam Witwer Joins CW's Supergirl

Sam Witwer might not be the biggest name in Hollywood but he does have quite the resume in geek media. The actor has voiced Darth Maul and several other characters in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. He also provided his likeness and voice for Starkiller from the Force Unleashed video games.

CW has recognized this and his work in Smallville as Doomsday since he has now been hired to portray Agent Liberty in the fourth season of Supergirl.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Agent Liberty will be a series regular and one of the show's villains. He's a founder of the Children of Liberty, a hate group that want a Human-first world order. Since characters like Kara and Martian Manhunter are in this series, expect the Children of Liberty to collide with them soon. The show's producers have described him as "a brilliant orator in the guise of a family man" and the scariest thing about him is how easily he can convince people that he's right.

Witwer is one of many Smallville alumni to appear in Supergirl. Erica Durance, who played Lois Lane for seven seasons, recurs as Kara's mother Alura Zor-El, and Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl on Smallville, guest-starred as Indigo in season 1.

Supergirl returns to TV on October 14.
