Star Wars: Mena Massoud Confirms He Wants to Play Live-Action Ezra Bridger

There's been a lot of talk over the last couple of months that Lucasfilm's upcoming Ahsoka Tano series starring Rosario Dawson will be bringing in Star Wars Rebels characters like Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Of course, Thrawn is already a no-brainer considering the villain was namedropped during Ahsoka's The Mandalorian Season 2 appearance but intriguingly, they have never crossed paths in the Star Wars universe.

Now, the latest rumors suggest that Lars Mikkelsen has already been cast as Thrawn in Ahsoka which doesn't seem all that surprising because he voiced the character in Rebels. As for Ezra, Aladdin actor Mena Massoud has been heavily rumored to be in the running for the role and it's something he actually teased on social media a few months back.

Massoud recently did an interview with ScreenRant and while he virtually denied his involvement in Ahsoka, he did confirm that he has his sights set on becoming the live-action version of Ezra. Addressing his Instagram post where he used a dialogue from the famed Rebels protagonist as his caption, Massoud said that there's really nothing into it and if anything, he was just trying to manifest.

He explains: "Yeah. Just manifesting, just manifesting, trying different things. Yeah, there's not much more I can say about that, but, you know, I had heard murmurings that this role was coming up and this is becoming a real thing. So I just kinda wanted to throw my name in the ring and -- yeah, just part of manifesting what you want."

I don't know about you but Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger sounds like a dream casting to me. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet but something tells me that both Mikkelsen and Massoud are indeed Star Wars-bound, and reading between the actor's statement, it seems to suggest that he wants to tell us something that he's not allowed to at the moment.
