The last couple of years have been very fruitful for Star Wars but despite the success of the franchise's streaming offerings, it can't be denied that something is missing.

We're talking about the franchise's film slate which has been pretty stagnant the last couple of years. The good thing is the drought won't last for long as Lucasfilm confirmed earlier this year that the next big screen project is coming in 2025, with the returning Daisy Ridley in the lead.

Now, new details surrounding the project have emerged online and it looks like Star Wars truly has its eye towards the future.

Recently, a series of leaks emerged on Reddit (via Star Wars Meg) that offer new information about the franchise's post-Skywalker Saga film.

Seemingly confirming previous reports indicating that Ridley would only be playing a supporting role in the project, the leak claims that actors Yasmeen Fletcher and Aramis Knight will be playing Jedi padawans named Tyla and Deak.

Fletcher and Knight both appeared in Ms. Marvel, a project that also involved director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Now, it wouldn't be too farfetched to assume that she had a hand in casting both actors.

As it stands, nothing has officially been confirmed yet so of course, it's still best to temper expectations and take this report with a Death Star-sized grain of salt.

It's also worth mentioning that the next film is reportedly titled "Star Wars: A New Beginning" so it does make sense for the project to revolve around the next generation of Jedi and potentially Sith as well.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's Star Wars film is reportedly hitting cinemas in 2026.
