Star Wars Fanart of Obi-Wan and Anakin will Break Your Heart

Though a lot of fans bash the Star Wars prequels, the films maintain to be beloved by many fans (and it's become a gold mine for memes). Revenge of the Sith saw the parting of ways for Obi-Wan and Anakin, but artist Aquila—Audax imagines an alternate reality where Obi-Wan actually stayed with Anakin for a bit.

Just so you know, this piece is based on a deleted scene from Revenge of the Sith after Obi-Wan cuts Anakin's limbs off. While Anakin is dying near the lava, he pleads with a, "Help me, Master," to Obi-Wan who has to force himself to walk away. That scene near the end of Revenge of the Sith continues to be the emotional highlight of the movie, and it still manages to be one of the best scenes in the entire prequel trilogy. There's just something so moving about watching Anakin and Obi-Wan grow together then having to watch them have a falling out:

For now, fans have been clamoring about getting a Kenobi movie, but ever since Solo, it seems that Lucasfilm has put a hold on the anthology movies. Hopefully, with Star Wars Celebration coming this April, we could get an update on movies that aren't Star Wars Episode IX.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20.
