Star Wars: Episode IX has nine months to go till it makes its big premiere, and yet, while Star Wars fans continue to itch for the film's title and trailer release, Lucasfilm continues to keep mum about the film. Luckily, that might change soon, because Star Wars Celebration is hitting Chicago Illinois next month, and the event's official announced Episode IX's panel event date where we're most likely going to get our first look at the film's teaser and official title.

Taking to its official Twitter account, Star Wars Celebration announced the date of Episode IX's panel, telling fans not to miss the opportunity to see director J.J. Abrams talk about the film (and hopefully drop the most important tidbit – the film's trailer) on April 12, one full day after the convention begins.

This is definitely exciting news for the Star Wars fanbase.

Everyone's been withering away waiting for Episode IX's trailer to drop. Fans were hoping for footage during the Christmas Holidays. They were hoping that it would come during the New Year's holidays. Then they put their hopes on leaks saying that it would somehow arrive in late January. Now everyone's looking towards this year's Star Wars Celebration.

After all, fans who attended Star Wars: The Last Jedi's panel at Star Wars Celebration in 2017 did manage to see the debut of the film's first teaser. Lucasfilm is most likely using the same marketing approach for Episode IX, so the April 12 panel is something that fans shouldn't miss.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
