Star Wars: Episode IX Title Reveal And Teaser Drop Rumored For Next Week

Star Wars: Episode IX might still be more or less a year away from its big premiere, but rumor and speculation surrounding the third and final sequel trilogy installment continues to escalate as fans patiently wait for the trailer of the film to drop.

While many hope to see the teaser for Episode IX release by the end of the month, a Redditor who claims to have a source working at CBS claims that a short preview for The Last Jedi's sequel will air during the 53rd Super Bowl game on February 3. Listing the ad slot as an "existing Star Wars Episode IX teaser," this new rumor seems to coincide with previous reports saying that Lucasfilm already has a teaser ready for Episode IX.

However, according to the Redditor, while Disney has already reserved two of CBS airtime slots during the Superbowl, footage still hasn't been provided to the network, possibly to avoid spoilers from leaking online. These slots are reportedly under 30 seconds each, meaning that fans shouldn't expect a full trailer drop during the event. It's very likely however that Lucasfilm might reveal the official title for Episode IX along with the teaser – what else would go with a 30-second video, eh?

Responding to this Redditor's claim, an anonymous user claiming to be working at CBS says that the information is most likely true.

However, we're reminding fans once again to take these rumors with a grain of salt. Anyone can post anything on the internet really. We'll just have to cross our fingers and wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres on December 20, 2019.
