Star Wars: Episode IX Is Looser Compared To Other Sequel Trilogy Installments, Says Oscar Isaac

Star Wars: Episode IX might be one of the most highly anticipated films of 2019, but according to Star actor Oscar Isaac, the third and final installment in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy is actually much looser than all the other previous films.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Isaac talks about how working on Episode IX is so much looser and dynamic compared to all the other film's that he's worked on in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. According to the young actor who plays the role of the ace Resistance Pilot Poe Dameron in the new episodes of the Skywalker Saga, there's a whole lot of loosey-goosey fun on the set of The Last Jedi's sequel.

"There's a looseness and an energy to the way that we're shooting this that feels very different… It's been really fun being back with J.J., with all of us working in a really close way. I just feel like there's an element of almost senioritis, you know?" Isaac laughs. "Since everything just feels way looser and people aren't taking it quite as seriously, but still just having a lot of fun. I think that that energy is gonna translate to a really great movie."

While this looseness might spark some concern, it's great to see that director J.J. Abrams isn't letting the pressure of directing the third and final sequel trilogy film get to him or to his team. Besides, loosey-goosey isn't all that bad. A playful movie set could signal dynamicity and creativity in a project, and besides, we're pretty sure that Abrams knows what he's doing.

Star Wars: Episode IX premiers next year, December 20, 2019.
