Star Wars: C-3PO Wasn't in Solo, but Anthony Daniels Definitely Was

Every Star Wars fan knows that each film in the franchise has an appearance from C-3PO and R2-D2. With Solo: A Star Wars Story, however, the tradition is broken… sort of. C-3PO doesn't make an appearance, but actor Anthony Daniels appears in the film as a human slave on Kessell.

Co-writer Lawrence Kasdan confirms that Daniels was playing the slave that urges one of the wookiees to escape with him. Kasdan told CinemaBlend:

"When I was talking about Anthony's cameo, it was a mistake of my syntax, I think. In the escape from the Kessel Mines, Anthony does not play the Wookiee, Sagwa, gobut rather his best friend, a human slave who beckons Sagwa, not Chewie, to join his escape route. Sagwa in turn invites Chewie to join Tak and himself. I'm sorry that was confusing..."

What's funny is, A New Hope had 3PO worrying about being sent to the spice mines of Kessell, and in Solo, Daniels actually ends up their—albeit not as 3PO. Daniels even commented:

Interesting thing about his Tak character was that he was a con artist in Coruscant. In Attack of the Clones, Daniels also played a human character in Coruscant, but his name was Danni Fatonni. It would have been nice if Tak and Danni ended up the same character.
