The first teaser for Ahsoka is finally here and it offers an awesome glimpse at what to expect in the highly anticipated Star Wars series. In addition to giving up our first look at the live-action Sabine Wren and Grand Admiral Thrawn, the trailer also revealed Mary Elizabeth Winstead's mysterious role in the Disney+ show.
The Ahsoka teaser was dropped during Star Wars Celebration and it highlights the return of Ahsoka Tano. Not surprisingly, there are more villains here including Ray Stevenson's Baylan and Ivanna Sakhno's mysterious Sith. In addition to that, we get a glimpse at Hera Syndulla in action along with her trusty companion Chopper.
If Hera Syndulla looks familiar, that's because the former Rebel pilot is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. There had been speculations that the Birds of Prey star will portray an important character in Ahsoka and the teaser just confirmed she is taking over the role of the Star Wars Rebels character.
Hera Syndulla isn't the only Star Wars Rebels character who appears in the Ahsoka teaser. We also get our first look at Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and a small glimpse at Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. Perhaps the coolest thing here is the brief look at Grand Admiral Thrawn who is expected to play a huge role in the series.
Interestingly, we don't get to see Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in the Ahsoka trailer. However, there's a huge chance that the next teaser for the wildly anticipated Star Wars show will give up a better look at all the major players. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
The Ahsoka teaser also confirms the return of Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma and Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth. The former recently appeared in Andor while the latter went up against Ahsoka in The Mandalorian Season 2.
Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ in August 2023.
