It's a big day for Star Wars fans as Lucasfilm just kicked off the 2023 edition of the Star Wars Celebration in London. As expected, the galactic extravaganza which is home to several surprises and announcements is already delivering all the goods, including the long-awaited trailer for the upcoming Ahsoka series, led by Rosario Dawson.
Set during the events of the "MandoVerse", Ahsoka will see the titular Jedi Ahsoka Tano embark on a brand new journey as she senses a huge threat to the galaxy — the Empire's inevitable return from the ashes. In the action-packed teaser, she says: "Something’s coming, something dark, I can sense it."
The visually stunning trailer also features our first official look at Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), as well as Thrawn's hair-raising arrival to the live-action universe. Intriguingly enough, the near-two-minute teaser doesn't reveal the actor who plays the Star Wars Rebels baddie so I guess we'll actually have to wait until the series drops to find out.
Dawson was present during Ahsoka's Star Wars Celebration panel to hype up the forthcoming show. Speaking on stage, she said: "I’ve had so many pinch me moments, even on the last day of shooting, when we turn the lightsabers on and I’m in the world of Star Wars. I'm poised and ready, because if this does well we’re going to get a second season."
