A lot of Trekkies are looking forward to the release of the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds next month which will see the continuation of Capt. Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise crew's adventure in the final frontier.
Besides witnessing more of the crew's antics and missions across the galaxy, the new season will also feature the highly-anticipated crossover with Lower Decks. Now, we have our first look at how the two shows will collide.
New Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Trailer Reveals First Look at Lower Decks Crossover
Paramount+ has released the official trailer for the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which gave us our first look at the Lower Decks crossover with Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid reprising their roles of Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler, respectively.
This time around, the two Lower Decks stars will be playing their respective characters in live-action. While the footage wasn't a lot, it was still an exciting tease for fans who are looking forward to it.
Star Trek veteran Jonathan Frakes, who we all know and love as William Riker, directed the special episode.

The preview also gave us an action-packed look at some of the moments that we will witness in the upcoming season including the official debut of Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk, who will have a recurring role.
Given that Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks are set in different timelines, it is unknown yet how the crossover will play into the story of the episode and the logical explanation of how it becomes possible for them to meet.
Nevertheless, it is an intriguing moment that fans can look forward to in the upcoming season and it sounds like it will be a fun treat for fans of both shows.
What is Season 2 of Strange New Worlds About?
The season's synopsis reads: "The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories, and encounters new life and civilizations."
"The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any Star Trek series."
The cast includes Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, and Babs Olusanmokun. Besides Wesley, Carol Kane will also have a recurring role as Pelia.
