Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Co-Creator Teases New Show Details

There is little doubt that Trekkies are already looking forward to the new series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. But what can fans expect in the Star Trek: Discovery spin-off focusing on Captain Christopher Pike, Number One, and Ensign Spock? Co-creator Akiva Goldsman has shared some interesting details about the highly anticipated CBS All Access show.

Goldsman recently spoke to Variety where he offered some insight on what will happen in Strange New Worlds.

"We're going to try to harken back to some classical Trek values, to be optimistic, and to be more episodic," Goldsman said. "Obviously, we will take advantage of the serialized nature of character and story building. But I think our plots will be more closed-ended than you've seen in either Discovery or Picard."

The producer also compared the upcoming show to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

"I imagine it to be closer to the original series than even DS9. We can really tell closed-ended stories. We can find ourselves in episodes that are tonally of a piece... It's hard to do a shore-leave episode in the middle of a long, serialized arc," Goldsman concluded.

This is awesome news for Trekkies who already have great expectations about the new show. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the trio's new adventures soon.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will star Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck. The series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
