Rebecca Romijn Reacts to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Series Announcement

In case you missed it, dedicated Trekkies have finally won. CBS All Access has just announced a new series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds that will focus on Captain Christopher Pike, Number One, and Ensign Spock. Not surprisingly, Rebecca Romijn is just as excited as fans when the news was dropped.

Romijn took to her official Twitter account to share a photo of Number One, Captain Pike, and Spock along with a delighted caption. Check it out below.

We can't really blame Romijn for being so happy. After all, Trekkies have been campaigning for a spin-off series featuring the three characters since they first appeared in Star Trek: Discovery. Although the possibility of the show was also teased in the Star Trek: Short Treks Season 2 episode Q&A, it's awesome to know that these guys are now getting their own series with new adventures.

Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for CBS All Access, confirmed the good news in a statement. "Fans fell in love with Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck's portrayals of these iconic characters when they were first introduced on Star Trek: Discovery last season. This new series will be a perfect complement to the franchise, bringing a whole new perspective and series of adventures to Star Trek," she said.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
